Firm achieves $15.2M verdict for client injured in work accident

We are thrilled to share that the Top 20 Verdicts in Illinois 2018 featured a jury verdict obtained by our Bensenville firm on behalf of a client injured in 2006. Every year, this list recognizes exemplary case results in a variety of legal practice areas in both state and federal courts across the state.

Making the Top 20 list was an achievement in and of itself, but the $15,280,000 awarded by the jury also breaks the all-time record for non-paralyzing back injury cases in Illinois. Using our more than 100 years of combined experience in personal injury, we were able to achieve a positive result for our client despite the challenges presented by the defense.

Cabinet installer injured due to lack of preparation by the defendant

Our client, a cabinet installer tasked with handling cabinetry from the defendant’s company, injured his lower back while attempting to help a delivery driver unload the cabinetry at the job site. The defendant, Retail Project Managers, Inc., failed to provide the proper equipment or human resources necessary to move the cabinets safely. Instead, the delivery driver and our client had no choice but to attempt moving the cabinets themselves, leaving our client with a wrenching back injury.

Defendant didn’t back down, and neither did we

Throughout the lengthy trial process, Retail Project Managers, Inc. denied our client’s claims at every stage – and never offered to settle. Undeterred, we pursued justice for our client over the course of several years and countless hours.
